BAGHDAD/CAIRO: A suicide attacker killed himself and 26 people in the Iraqi town of Hillah Tuesday, police said.

A further 65 were injured when the bomb went off on Tuesday morning in the mixed Sunni and Shiite town that lies 100 kilometres to the south of the capital Baghdad, al-Arabiya news channel reported.
 
Since the US-led invasion of Iraq in 2003, Hillah has been the scene of many serious attacks.
 
The US military reported on Tuesday that a US marine had been killed on Saturday in the western province of Anbar.
