Hong Kong downgraded its typhoon warning after it shut schools and businesses for most of Thursday, with Nesat now headed to Hainan in south China.
The Hong Kong Observatory downgraded the warning to a No3 storm signal, down from a No 8 previously.
Hong Kong has a series of different typhoon warnings. Schools, businesses and government services stop when any No 8 or above typhoon warning is hoisted.
