When the Al Jazeera presenter Mehdi Hasan asked the Saudi ambassador to the United Nations Abdallah al-Mouallimi about why he supported democracy in Syria but not in Saudi Arabia, he was left with not many words.
In response to Hasan's question, Abdallah al-Mouallimi said that if he took a poll, the citizens of Saudi Arabia would say that they are satisfied with the current system of government. However, Hasan, in turns, asked him how would they express their need for a different system of government if it is illegal in Saudi Arabia to call for a change of government. The UN ambassador was clearly at a loss of words.
