Fifty-four and still counting. Way to go before she hits 100, but this Taiwanese woman on a smooching mission has already turned a rage on the web. Yang Ya-ching, 27, a music major living in Paris, wants to kiss 100 men. She has notched up 54 so far.

Blogging on her adventure — she calls it a project — she says she hit upon the idea three years ago. Friends tried to dissuade her and warned, “You might wind up getting slapped rather than kissed.” But she persisted.

Her targets so far include a street sweeper, a model and a tourist. Kiss No 3 came from a French man who teaches in Africa. He liked her and invited her to visit him in Africa. The man who gave her kiss No 48 bit Yang’s lip.

She now wants to pen a book about her experiences. Her blog, which features photos of some encounters, has attracted 1.97 million visitors. On Monday alone, she had more than 224,000.

Some admire her courage, some envy her, while some others are downright nasty, calling her names. Some feel her project is just an excuse to kiss handsome young men.

“Aren’t you afraid of catching a disease?” one of them asked. “No”, she replied. “The more you’re afraid of, the less you accomplish”.
