Actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu is busy shooting for her Telugu and Tamil films back-to-back. And her film 'Thangamagan' with Dhanush will be the movie she rounds off 2015 with. Samantha is quite excited about this movie that will hit theatres on December 18. Thangamagan is her first film with actor-producer Dhanush, who has been on a winning streak.

Speaking exclusively to dna, Samantha says, "I really loved working on this movie. The entire team is like one big family and we bonded so much."

"Dhanush is a wonderful co-star. I had to unlearn and learn so much about acting from him. He is extremely talented - it's unbelievable how talented he is!" she says adding, "I hope his luck rubs off on me."

Ask her about her role in Thangamagan and Samantha says, "It's not the usual cutesy role; it's a more mature one. After Kaththi and Anjaan, I had made a conscious decision that I would only do films that offered me more than just a few songs and scenes. I had decided I would do only roles with substance."

In Thangamagan, she shares screenspace with actress Amy Jackson. How does she feel about two-heroine films? "Well, I don't think I'll ever do a film with another actress if I didn't like her!" laughs Samantha.

"In fact, Amy and I are doing not just Thangamagan but also Vijay's film. I find her extremely beautiful and hard-working. She works so hard on her dialogues to ensure she gets the lip-sync right. I've not seen that even in north Indian actresses."

So are Amy and she friends? "We are not close friends but we respect each other's space. I think that's important," she says. Samantha is known to be very friendly with her co-stars and has many friends in the film industry.

Though she had high hopes as far as '10 Endradhukulla' with actor Vikram goes, the movie didn't do well. "All of us were disappointed the movie didn't do well but I had really worked hard on that film," says Samantha. As for now, she's now looking at the future and hoping that Thangamagan is received well by the audience.

The actress has also been signed on for director Vetrimaaran's Vada Chennai with Dhanush but one hears that there's another film with the actor as well. However, she refrains from commenting.

Samantha, who is known for her philanthropy, was distressed seeing how much the recent floods in Chennai devastated the area she grew up in - Pallavaram. Despite being busy with her shoot in Hyderabad, she made sure she organised for relief material worth Rs 30 lakh was distributed in the area.

"It was wonderful to see how Chennai came together to help one another. At a time of distress one would expect people to cry or get upset but it was just the opposite. People in the city came out onto the streets to help one another. What an amazing thing," says Samantha about the recent Chennai floods.

As she signs off, the actress says she's looking forward to seeing the audience's reaction to 'Thangamagan' and adds, "I hope my end year ends on a high note!"
