The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) on Sunday asked the Centre and Jammu and Kashmir government to announce a "time-bound" plan for relief and rehabilitation of Kashmiri Pandits in the Valley.

While addressing a conference of the VHP, its 'International Working President' Pravin Togadia said that rehabilitation should be as per the "wishes" of Kashmiri Pandits and not "under pressure" of separatists.

He also demanded a White Paper on atrocities perpetuated on Kashmiri Pandits in 1990 with details of assets lost during the turmoil so that the victims could be resettled accordingly.

Calling upon Hindus to remain "united" and ensure "there would be no decrease in their population", he said, "Our main objective is to make Hindus secure, safe, educated and prosperous and provide them with job opportunities.

"We would build pressure on the Union government to enact a law to facilitate entrepreneurship among Hindus," he added. Togadia asserted that Ghar Wapsi would continue and conversion of Hindus would be "resisted".
