Nine students were injured in a clash between two rival group of students of Muzaffarpur Institute of Technology (MIT) here, police sources said today.
   
The students clashed last evening over a trivial issue related to food and study, sources said, adding some of them exchanged blows and a few exploded crackers creating a panic-like situation.
    
Police soon reached and got them dispersed before driving them out of the hostels, they said.
    
The injured were taken to a private nursing room where they received first-aid, sources said.
    
Acting principal AK Mishra said the MIT authorities decided to close the institute for a couple of days in view of the tension on the campus. He said a meeting of the authorities and representatives of the students would take place tomorrow to resolve the issue.
