Rohtak, Amritsar shiver; mercury rises at other places

Rohtak and Amritsar in Haryana and Punjab respectively braved another cold night, but the minimum temperatures at most places in the two states today increased by a few notches, the MET said here.
   
Rohtak shivered at a low of 4.5 Celsius, down two degrees, while the minimum at Amritsar was 4.6 C, one below normal.
   
Chandigarh registered a low of 9.4 degree C, two above normal.
   
Hisar in Haryana recorded a minimum of 12.8 degree C, four above normal. The low at Ambala was 8.2 degree C, up by a degree, while the minimum at Karnal settled at 8.8 C, also one degree above normal.
  
Ludhiana in Punjab also witnessed an increase in its minimum temperature at 10.8 deg C, four notches above normal.
  
The low at Patiala was 9.5 deg C, up by a degree, the MET said.
