Thirteen killed in road mishap in Madhya Pradesh

Thirteen people were killed when their jeep collided with a bumper in Barbati village here in the wee hours today.

The mishap took place around 0130 hours on the Jabalpur-Seoni national highway.

Most of the victims belonged to a family from Bag Bardia village in Chhindwara district of Madhya Pradesh and were returning from Allahabad after performing some rituals at the Sangam, Dhooma Police Station-incharge M K Gupta said.

The deceased have been identified as Dhannu Rathore, Lalla Rathore, Mahesh Rathore, Raja (driver), Bhole, Aadu, Sandeep (7), Yogesh (6), Gyani, Shantabai, Somvatibai, Bhagwatibai and Mangalibai, he said.

The driver of the dumper is absconding and a case has been registered in connection with the incident, police added.
