Man’s eternal quest for the secret of staying young seems to have ended in the deserts of Rajasthan. Scientists at National Research Centre for Camel (NRCC) in Bikaner have discovered that skin cream made from camel milk reduces signs of ageing and doubles up as an effective moisturiser.

Researchers at NRCC conducted tests on two groups of 50 subjects each over six months.

One of the research scientists, Dr Gorakhmal, said: “The camel milk has been found to hold strong anti-ageing and anti-wrinkling properties. We are now working to release a scientific report on the milk’s ability to slow signs of ageing,” he added.

“The skin cream developed from camel milk has produced excellent results at the experimental stage. Now we are planning to go for commercial production of the cream. The fat globules found in camel milk are scientifically proven beneficial for skin and it has been embraced by users in many cities in raw form,” Dr NV Patil, NRCC director said.
Research has proved levels of moisture and protein are higher in camel milk compared to cow milk, he said.

Beauty experts have acknowledged the results. “The cream made of camel milk is a very good moisturiser. It is been proven that camel milk if used regularly reduces wrinkles by 20-25%,” Parul Nayyer, a Jaipur-based beauty expert said.
