Designer/Politician Shaina NC and Nana Chudasama have organised a skating rally to celebrate 50 years of Maharashtra. Their NGO, Giants International is supporting this rally.

Nine children, all under the age of 10 years, will be starting the rally from Thane check point at 5.30 in the morning, today. They will travel all the way, crossing Vikroli, Chembur, Siddhivinayak Temple, Worli, Marine Drive to Colaba. The rally will commence at the Gateway of India by 2 pm. There will be 24 stops for the children on their way where bystanders would cheer and encourage them. Coach Rishi will be travelling with the children throughout the way.

“Fifty years of Maharashtra is a very special occasion for all of us. The objective of this rally is to give out the three key messages: of freedom from terrorism, peace and harmony for our people and protection of the girl child,” says Shaina. “Since children are the torchbearers of the future, they are the best ones who can portray this message in its right light,” she adds.

Police commissioner D Sivanandan, actor Vivek Oberoi and the Mayor of Mumbai Shraddha Jadhav will be present at the Gateway of India to welcome the children.
