With the heat at its peak, nothing is more refreshing than juices and fruit-based drinks that will keep you chilled out.

It’s that time of year when all it just takes is a cold glass of lemonade to give you a nice respite from the heat. Health experts advocate leaving aside aerated drinks and replacing those with natural beverages.
Model and TV host Parizad Kolah Marshall enjoys sipping on her juices. “Nothing seems better then getting into the water on a hot summer day and having some chilled watermelon juice,” she smiles.
With the mercury slated to soar in the days to come, chef Ananda Solomon of Taj President presents easy-to-make drinks that will leave you feeling refreshed this season.
Blue Nile
Type: Built up
Glass: Hurricane glass
Ingredients:
Blue Curacao — 30ml
Lime Juice — a dash of 7up Soda
Method: Pour the blue curacao in the glass, add a dash of lime juice, four cubes of ice, 7up and top this with soda.
Shirley Temple
Type : Built up
Glass: Champagne tulip
Ingredients:
Orange Squash —15ml
Rose syrup — 15ml
Lime juice — a dash
Soda
Method: Pour the rose syrup in the glass, add crushed ice, add the orange squash and a dash of lime juice. Top this with soda.
Thai pei
Type: Stirred
Glass: Brandy Goblet
Ingredients
Apple juice —120ml
Sour mix—20 ml
Method:
Pour all the ingredients in a cocktails shaker. Add crushed ice. Shake well and pour the mixture in the glass.
Khus Cooler
Type: Built up
Glass: Pilsner glass
Ingredients:
Khus syrup — 30ml
Lime juice — a dash
Salt and pepper — a pinch of 7up, soda
Method: Pour the khus syrup in the glass, add crushed ice, a dash of lime juice, salt and pepper and top with 7up and soda.
