Around 50 pc turnout for Maharashtra polls in Thane

Only 49.61 per cent of the total 67.02 lakh voters from the 24 Assmebly segments of Thane district cast their votes in the recently held Maharashtra polls.
 
The percentage of women who exercised their franchise were 43.83 per cent while 56.17 per cent males casted their votes, the district election office said.

The maximum percentage of voting -- 64.83 per cent -- was recorded at Sahapur segment while Ulhasnagar witnessed 37.08 percent.

Meanwhile, Ambernath recorded 38.63 per cent, Ulhasnagar (37.08), NallaSopara(48.09), Bhiwandi (W) (44.07), Bhiwandi (E) (40.05), Kalyan (W) (45.08), Kalyan(E)(45.94), Dombivili(43.61), Kalyanr(47.18), Mira Bhayander (44.95), Ovla-Majiwada(46.81), Mumbra Kalwa(47.27), Airoli(49.98), Belapur(46.72).
 
Those below 60 per cent were Dahanu (56.19), Palghar (56.41), Boisar(56.82), Vasai(59.17), Kopri Panchpakadhi (50.96), Thane(51.55).
