Even as majority of the press briefing by IS Bindra and Lalit Modi revolved around the money that will be generated by the game, the two most vocal Jagmohan Dalmiya critics couldn’t resist venting their ire against the man. “Enough of these allegations and countering. I challenge Dalmiya to a live debate on TV. He does not have the guts to accept,” said Bindra.

“Fresh information of his misdeeds is surfacing as we continue to examine the Board’s books. Now we have learnt that he has commissioned a book on Indian cricket and paid a historian Rs 52 lakh for the effort.”

Modi said that the BCCI was embroiled in so many controversies during the Dalmiya Raj that its lawyer, who also happens to handle Dalmiya’s business interests, made more money than Rahul Dravid last year. Insisting that the PILCOM amount was nothing more than plain embezzlement, Modi announced with a grin: “If he does not give a satisfactory explanation we will make sure he is locked up and then the key is thrown away.”
