She was the face of ‘Bombay Talking’ on Zee Café. Her role as Sheena, a struggling wannabe who would do anything for a break, was a hit with the audience. “The show was a great learning experience. I could relate to the character easily because I am an aspiring actor,” she admits.

But Priyanka is quick to point out, “However, I would definitely not go to the extent of going to parties and exchanging numbers.”

The first season of ‘Bombay Talking’ is over and the channel is gearing up for the second season. Priyanka says, “It’s sad that the show has come to an end. We were told that the first season would have 80 episodes but it was wrapped up in only 53 episodes. I am looking forward to the second season.”

Priyanka reveals, “Even though the show was in English the response was great. It was meant for a certain section of society.”

The Delhi-based Priyanka confesses that getting used to the Mumbai social circuit wasn’t easy. “I am not really a party-animal. But the directors were helpful and I was comfortable doing the role,” she adds.

Since she wants a break in Bollywood would she accept an item-number similar to her character in the show? “No! That was a desperate character I portrayed. I have come here to be an actor and not to get the tag of an item-girl!” she exclaims.

Though the lovely Bassi is now concentrating on ad campaigns, she is also open to soaps. “I am open to saas bahu melodrama. The masses can relate to it and it sells,” she signs off.
