Lionel Messi is the best: Cristiano Ronaldo Jr trolls his grandmother

The Messi V/S Ronaldo debate is the most enduring sporting rivalry of our times. Never before, in any other sport, with the possible exception of tennis, do we have two superstars at their very best slug it out for ‘The Greatest to Ever Play the Game Tag’.

Now it’s a well-known fact that Cristiano Ronaldo’s son is a big Lionel Messi fan. So when his dad was picking up the Golden Boot for scoring the highest number of goals in a season, CR Jr couldn’t help but troll his grandmother as he chose the least importune time to ask her about Lionel Messi’s Ballon D’Or Collection.

Earlier in the year, when Ronaldo went to collect his FIFA Ballon d’Or, a video went viral which showed Messi affectionately patting Cristiano Ronaldo Junior on the head and asking how he was doing. Ronaldo then told Messi: “"He watched a video on the Internet about us and he talks about you.”

Who’s the best?

On his recent trip to India, football legend Pele picked Messi ahead of Ronaldo. He said: “It's very difficult to make a comparison of players of different generations. But in last 10 years Messi was the best. Ronaldo plays forward and tries to score while Messi plays with a different style. In my team I would love to have both.” Frankly, we should just stop debating, and enjoy the fact that we can watch two such great players in their prime.
