Ana Ivanovic, who has got the tick of approval from Melbourne fans, topped their fancy in a recent poll of this year’s hottest players.

According to the poll conducted by Herald Sun, American stud Andy Roddick was the top-ranked male, but hot on his heels was Aussie young gun Bernard Tomic.

Sexy shrieker Maria Sharapova came in second to Ivanovic while world number one Caroline Wozniacki was rated third hottest female at this year’s Open.

The poll of 100 fans rated the Aussie girls poorly, with Sam Stosur and Jelena Dokic receiving single votes.

Novak Djokovic might be hot on the court, but he only scored one vote for looks.

Roger Federer managed five, while Spanish hunk Rafael Nadal and British star Andy Murray scored six each.

“Nadal should definitely be higher than third. And I would have agreed with Roddick as hottest player a few years ago but his bad attitude has made him less attractive,” the Herald Sun quoted Julia Piccone, 28, as saying.

“But I love Tommy Haas, he should have polled higher. He’s more mature,” she said.

Aussie ironman Lleyton Hewitt didn’t rate highly either, polling four votes compared with Tomic’s 10.

“Bernard Tomic is a good player but he shouldn’t be second, his looks aren’t up to his tennis standard,” said Jake Godfrey, 22, said.

American Mardy Fish, Spaniard David Ferrer and Argentine David Nalbandian failed to make the looker list.
