Indian Child Rights activist Kailash Satyarthi who touched lives of nearly 80,000 children across India and saved them from child labour was awarded Nobel Peace Prize with Pakistan's Malala Yousafzai, who was shot severely by Taliban for crusading to promote women rights and education.
"The Nobel Committee regards it as an important point for a Hindu and a Muslim - an Indian and a Pakistani - to join in a common struggle for education and against extremism," the judges said in a statement.
Kailash Satyarthi is the one to win the most prestigious award after Mother Teresa who received it 35 years ago. Bachpan Bachao Andolan is the first social campaign of India formed against the suppression of child rights.
Here's a gist of how people on Twitter reacted to Satyarthi being awarded the highest honour:
#KailashSatyarthi. An agent of peace and conflict redresal. Wonderful to see you succeed on the global stage. :)

Malala Yousafzai, is the youngest laureate to receive the Prize. It seems that not all are happy with the news of Malala winning the award. There have been negative views on Malala getting the Prize. Many are also of the opinion that the "awareness of girls education" by Malala is a propaganda operated by the US. Here's how it goes:
Isn't it ironic that today the same #Pakistan which is boasting about #MalalaYousafzai, a fraction of it once wanted to kill her.

Just tell me one thing, how exactly did #MalalaYousafzai helped girl's education in #Pakistan? At least I'm unaware of any such development

Harbour no contempt for #BilawalBhutto and #MalalaYousafzai. They are cosmetic bunnies, being tested and refined for the bigger market.
