US secretary of state Hillary Clinton said on Sunday the international community would not wait indefinitely for Iran to show that it is prepared to meet its international obligations.

Six world powers met with Iran in Geneva earlier this month to press for details on its nuclear programme. Clinton said the meeting was constructive but added, "Words are not enough."

Negotiations are due on October 19 in Vienna on a proposal to send Iranian uranium abroad for processing and return to Tehran.

On October 25, UN inspectors are due to visit an enrichment plant near the holy city of Qom.
