Three women were left fuming after learning that they were identified as “fat girls” on their bill at a California restaurant.

Christine Duran, Christina Huerta and Isabel Robles said that their enjoyable meal at Chilly D’s Sports Lounge in Stockton, California, ended painfully on Thursday when a waiter plopped down the offensive receipt on their table, the New York Daily News reported.

“I got the bill, and I was like ‘Why does the receipt say ‘fat girls’?’” Duran told News 10.

Her friends refused to believe her.

“I was laughing at her, and she was like ‘I’m serious.’ I’m like ‘No, it does not say fat girls. Let me see it’,” Huerta said.

The women confronted their waiter, who denied any involvement. He said the slur was likely entered by Jeff, the server who had taken their order.

The women said they were shocked when they glanced at the receipt and saw the insult.

The women demanded to see the manager, who then offered the ladies 25 percent off their bill – a move that provoked further outrage.

“He had like a smirk on his face, like if it was funny, but he was trying not to laugh,” Huerta said.

“He was like ‘Well, I can do 50 percent,’ and we were just like ‘Are you serious?’.

The bar manager at Cameo Club Casino, which owns Chilly D’s, later said he was “appalled” by incident.

“I just want to tell them that we’re sincerely sorry for that and that we’ll do everything in our power to make sure that this never happens to anyone ever again,” Jimmy Seimers told News 10.

The restaurant has since suspended the server who admitted to typing in the insult.

The women said that no number of apologies will erase the difficult memory.

“They can’t change it,” Robles said.

“This is something that we got to live with – all three of us,” she added.
