Another member of the state BJP has been hit with allegations of graft.

On Monday, a private complaint filed with the Lokayukta special court accused minister for health and family welfare Arvind Limbavali of favouring DLF Home Private Limited by recommending the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) to widen a road in Begur, where a company's property was coming up.

Along with Limbavali and DLF, nine others have also been accused of violating rules. Four persons, who own property adjacent to DLF properties, have filed the complaint.

One of the complainant N Nagaraju alleged that Limbavali had recommended the BBMP to take up the widening of a road when he was the education minister.

The complaint stated that Limbavali recommended the BBMP to widen the road in violation of the revised master plan (RMP 2015).

According to the complaint, Limbavali, in 2009, had issued a letter in which he had asked the BBMP to widen a narrow road, originally planned to be widened to 18 meters, to 24 metres, thus violating the revised master plan.

The complainants told the court that Limbavali was not authorised to issue such an order since he represents Mahadevapura constituency. They also made it clear that Limbavali had nothing to do with Begur.

The complaint also alleged that the then BBMP commissioner Bharat Lal Meena, the then administrator of the BBMP KM Shivakumar and executive engineer of the BBMP Lakshmeesh favoured DLF Homes Private Limited.

The complaint further stated that the company, which had obtained sanction to construct the residential building for up to four floors on 27 acres of land, later obtained sanction for 18 floors with road widening. The RMP also diverted the road plan to survey number 360 from the earlier 369.

When DLF started construction, the BBMP issued a notice to it for violating the norms. Limbavali then wrote a letter to executive chief engineer, major roads, BBMP, through the BBMP commissioner to widen the road. The complainants further alleged that Suadela Construction, one of the accused,  took permission from the BDA for going up to 30 floors without a proper road facility.

The complaint alleges that Limbavali and the above-mentioned BBMP officials did not act in accordance with the BDA Act, the Karnataka Town Planning Act, the Country Planning Act and the KMC Act.

The court adjourned the matter to October 31.
