Last night, he loved Bangalore Enrique Iglesias proved second time lucky as the city embraced him one more time. He was here in 2004 and if you thought that was a big concert, then Sunday night would have been an experience of a lifetime.

Enrique Iglesias, now 36, is still in shape and can still make a crowd go completely delirious. — a point proven on several occasions at Micromax Enrique Iglesias Tour in the city.  The distance didn’t seem to matter and the chilly breeze was no deterrent either as thousands of fans flocked to the venue on the outskirts hoping for a night to remember.

The concert started late and Enrique made an appearance only at 8.45pm; but the DJs on stage kept the crowds, pleasantly satisfied, dishing out popular EDM hits as the crowds swarmed in. Enrique should be credited for being one of the only artistes in today’s pop music scene capable of reducing fully grown men to tears.

And so, when halfway through the concert, the Spanish crooner chose to invite several people on stage — a lucky man, a girl and a policeman included — the rest of us were gifted with the once in a lifetime opportunity of seeing grown men cry. Now, that was a feat.

Opening with his current hit Tonight - I’m Loving You and then following it up with hits like I Like How It Feels, Dirty Dancer, Bailamos and older hits like Escape and Hero — Enrique ensured he covered most of his popular hits till date.

A rather sullen cover of the Ben E King anthem Stand By Me, with one of the lucky fans, left most of the crowd feeling warm and fuzzy, while the rest of the evening was dedicated to pure unadulterated heart-thumping EDM (Electronic Dance Music).

Most people found the venue, partied like mad, cried, laughed and danced under the Bangalore sky as another Sunday evening came to a chilly wind-swept end. Enrique is welcome in Bangalore always and his newly learnt ‘Namaste’ and ‘Dhanyavaad’ only add to this irrepressible charm.
