The Khiladi of Bollywood Akshay Kumar turned a year older on Sunday. The fitness freak crossed the 50 mark and is 51 years old now!
Rajiv Hari Om Bhatia, popularly known as Akshay Kumar celebrates his 51st birthday on Sunday.
The Indian-born Canadian actor, martial artist, producer, loving husband to wife Twinkle Khanna and a doting father to son Aarav and daughter Nitara, was born on September 9, 1967.
Not only is Akshay the most fit and disciplined actor that the Bollywood film industry has, but he also happens to be one of the most influential personalities of B-Town.
He in fact, a few weeks ago, left behind Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan and the likes, and topped the popularity chart on the micro-blogging site as far as Bollywood is concerned.
Akshay Kumar scored over 20 million followers on his Instagram and became the first male Bollywood actor to have so many followers on the photo and video-sharing site.

In the 2015 film 'Singh Is Bliing', Akshay essayed the role of Raftaar Singh,who is seen offering charity to devotees in Gurudwara by polishing their shoes. Apparently, after filming the sequence, the actor took some time off and continued with the charity work, as he had wanted to do it for a long time

For his role of Ranjit Katyal in the film 'Airlift', the khiladi learned Arabic, as his character was based on real life Mr. Mathunny Mathews, famously known by the name Toyota Sunny

Akshay Kumar as Jagdish Mishra aka Jolly in the film 'Jolly LLB 2', completed the filming of his character’s scenes in the entire film in a record 30 days
4. Akshay Kumar in 'Sabse Bada Khiladi'

In a scene in 'Sabse Bada Khiladi', Akshay's character Lallu had to jump from a helicopter on a car. For the scene, the khiladi refused to have any stunt double, and did the stunt himself. He has performed many such dangerous stunts in several other films because of which he is also called the 'Indian Jackie Chan'
5. Akshay Kumar in 'Singh Is Bling'

In the the film 'Singh is Bliing', the scene in which he fights a lion, is not any VFX, but actually a real lion. That particular scene was shot exclusively in South Africa
6. Akshay Kumar in 'Brothers'

Akshay Kumar claims that his role as David Fernandes in the 2015 film 'Brothers', was the most tough role he has played in his career till date. In preparation for his role, he lost around 10 to 15 kg weight to match the aged look in the film
