The exteriors of Kangana Ranaut's Manali home has a very European country-side feel to it. It features a charcoal grey facade with strips and windows and doors painted in contrasting white with louvred shutters giving it a mountain home charm yet making it look glamourous and taking away from the rugged Himalayan landscape surroundings.

Kangana Ranaut wanted a home away from home that would remove her from the hectic big-screen city life. "And thus, this house was envisioned; a home in the heart of Manali. Space caters to her wishes, of having a serene, quiet space, and is in perfect harmony with its surroundings," Shabnam Gupta of The Orange Lane told Houzz Magazine in an old interview.
About the master bedroom that looks out to the snow-covered Himalayas, it has elements all sourced from different labels including an armchair, round marble top table with a cast, an exquisite customised dresser, all from Shabnam's Peacock Life and carpet from Jaipur Rugs. The bed and the bedside table both were designed by Shabnam on-site.
3.Kangana Ranaut's Manali home: Hand-painted walls
"The hand-painted walls in the dining area transport you to a different world from the sand-coloured staircase foyer and common areas of the rest of the house," read a part of interior designer Shabnam's caption as she shared a picture of the hand-painted walls.
4.Kangana Ranaut's Manali home: Grand staircase adorned with a gallery wall
"The staircase is the central space as it connects the two zones of the house. When moving from one area to the other, it’s important to continue the design language. This is a grand structure, built with wooden treads and risers, where the railing, too, shows detailing. The wall along the staircase houses locally sourced pictures that are a reflection of Manali and the photo frames are from Kangana's travels,” Gupta told Houzz magazine.

The living room is connected to a glass conservatory that doubles up as a seating space amid the scenic backdrop of the snow-clad Himalayas. Perfect for a sunny sit-out in cold weather, it further connects to the deck area. “This is an open-to-sky space with stone flooring. The best part about this space is how the glass walls continue into the ceiling, creating a space that is completely among the mountains yet enclosed," Shabnam Gupta explained to Houzz magazine.
6.Kangana Ranaut's Manali home: Living room with a library
Tweed sofas with worn-out leather trunks and a fireplace to cuddle with your book, Kangana's living room is the perfect place for a quiet evening. "This vintage classic mountain home's living room has an old timber ceiling and wooden flooring, and the introduction of colour is through the upholstery in leather and fabric. The hanging chandelier and piano add to the charm of the room,” Shabnam Gupta was quoted telling a magazine.
7.Kangana Ranaut's Manali home: The bar
The bar next to the living room at Kangana Ranaut's Manali home is painted in the shade of soothing green and is a compact space that is accentuated with striking pendant lights.
