SCOOPS: Kartik Aaryan denies being offered 'Saare Jahaan Se Accha', Jeetendra cancels shoot with Rekha

Ranveer Singh, who has become popular as a hip-hop artiste thanks to his rap numbers Apna Time Aayega and Asli Hip Hop from Gully Boy going viral, is all set to kick-off the promo of an upcoming music show Rising Star. A source says that the actor will rap Apna Time Aayega, but slightly tweak the lyrics to introduce the kind of talent that can be seen on the reality show. He is slated to shoot for it today. While Shankar Mahadevan and Diljit Dosanjh will continue to be a part of the jury in the third season, Neeti Mohan replaces Monali Thakur as the third judge.

Kartik Aaryan will be paired opposite two leading ladies — Ananya Panday and Bhumi Pednekar — in his next film, which is a remake of Pati, Patni Aur Woh (PPAW). While Bhumi plays Kartik’s wife, Ananya plays the secretary he has an extra-marital affair with. The crew will begin shooting this month in Mumbai and we hear the first schedule will only have Kartik and Ananya filming their scenes. “Bhumi isn’t required for this leg of shoot. She will be busy shooting for her film with Taapsee Pannu where she plays a woman shooter. So her dates have been locked as she begins the project backed by Anurag Kashyap from February 11. At the same time, Juno Chopra also plans to roll PPAW with Kartik and Ananya. Bhumi joins the two from the next schedule.” 

After Shah Rukh Khan’s exit from Saare Jahaan Se Accha, a number of actors are said to be in contention to play cosmonaut Rakesh Sharma in the biopic. While Vicky Kaushal and Rajkummar Rao are said to have what the makers are looking for in an actor to step into the role, Kartik Aaryan was also reportedly being considered. However, the spokesperson for the Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety actor has denied the news, saying, “We just came across this bit of news that is doing the rounds that Kartik Aaryan has been approached for a space film. However, we’d like to clarify that there is no truth to this news whatsoever.”

Abhishek Bachchan is all set to make his digital debut with the second season of Breathe. The actor will replace R Madhavan, who was seen in the first part, with the second installment entailing a completely new story. Amit Sadh has been retained from the original cast and the two actors recently zoomed off to Rajasthan to begin filming for the web show.

However, now, we hear, Jeetendra won’t be able to make it. Says a source, “He was informed about the date of the shoot recently. He bowed out because the date was clashing with his wife Shobha Kapoor’s birthday, which happens to be on February 1.”

That’s what Kriti Sanon learnt while shooting her next film in Mathura. One day, after pack-up, when she was travelling back, a monkey snatched her sunglasses and went to a nearby tree.

Despite her team’s attempts, the ape seemed to be in no mood to return her designer shades. That’s when some locals suggested the actress gives food to the monkey in exchange for her sunglasses. Much to her joy, the moment she handed some eatable to the animal, it discarded her shades and took the food, went away. “That’s when Kriti learnt that the monkeys will return your things undamaged if you give them something they like,” says our source.
