Yes, that’s what happened when Tiger Shroff recently visited the sets of The Kapil Sharma Show to promote his upcoming release Student Of The Year 2 along with his co-stars Ananya Panday and Tara Sutaria. When the comedian asked Tiger about working with Will Smith in the film, the young action hero gushed that he was excited to share screen space with the global star.

“I was so overwhelmed that even after gaining immense fame and accolades in his career as an actor, singer, dancer and more, Will used to come to me to learn dance steps during the shoot,” he said. A source from the sets adds that the Baaghi 2 actor then went on to compare the stand-up comedian with the Hollywood star. Tiger said, “You (Kapil) are as grounded as Will Smith. Even after getting such a huge fan following across the globe, you are still a generous person at heart.” Well, Kapil was overwhelmed and couldn’t thank Tiger enough.

2. The rise of Aditya Roy Kapur...

Aditya Roy Kapur wears his stardom casually. Despite being in Bollywood for a decade, the young actor has retained an air of mystery around himself; something that has proved irresistible, especially for his female fans. Another aspect that adds to his mystique is that he usually maintains a low profile. He comes out in the public domain only during the release of his films.

And, believe us when we say that his performance in the multi-starrer period drama, Kalank, came as a revelation. He played his suave, rich, publisher act with great finesse. Despite the ensemble cast, ARK managed to not only stand his ground with a good performance but he also stole a little bit of thunder from some of his fellow actors. It’s only natural that audiences were rooting for this tall, fair and handsome guy, who turned in a sensitive performance. Social media has been abuzz ever since, and the way things are poised, the 33-year-old has loads to look forward to.

In his next, he teams up with his Kalank co-actor Alia Bhatt. They will start filming Mahesh Bhatt’s Sadak 2, for which the filmmaker will don the director’s hat after a long time.

The actor is also collaborating with Mohit Suri on Malang, which stars Anil Kapoor, Disha Patani and Kunal Kemmu. The trade is excited about this one because it brings together the dream team of Mohit and Aditya after their previous blockbuster Aashiqui 2 (2013).

He is also part of Anurag Basu’s untitled next, which releases in January 2020. Says a trade source, “Aditya has always received encouraging reviews. But with Kalank, he has become an actor to reckon with. He is being watched closely because he is in an exciting phase of his career. As of now, he looks slated for good things because he’s working with some of the best filmmakers. Also, he has a couple of author-backed roles. They should give him an edge.”

The finale of the singing talent show, The Voice, was shot two days ago. The makers roped in singing legend Asha Bhosle as the celebrity guest for it.

A source from the sets says, “She played an integral role on the show by sharing her experiences with contestants and giving them tips and advice to cherish for a lifetime.” However, AR Rahman, who is the super judge on the show, was conspicuously missing. The Oscar-winning composer who was present for the semi-finale episode couldn’t make it to the finale due to health issues. He even posted a message on social media conveying the same.

The team of Blank is upbeat as they know their thriller has an engaging plot.

The Behzad Khambata directorial is toplined by veteran actor Sunny Deol, who essays the role of a dutiful police officer. Newcomer Karan Kapadia plays a suicide bomber who loses his memory after an accident.

The film is being talked about for its engaging narrative and high-octane action sequences.

Karan, who is making an unconventional debut, is confident that his film will find takers. The fact that he has a bomb strapped onto him and he is completely ‘blank’ about what will transpire next, forms the crux of this engrossing movie.

Behzad says, “Blank is an edge-of-the-seat ride that’s bound to keep you hooked. But, for us, it’s a labour of love, blood, sweat and tears. I hope the audience enjoys the film. And I would like to thank my producers Tony D’souza, Vishal Rana, Dr Shrikant Bhasi, Nishant Pitti and &Pictures, who backed us.”

Those who’ve seen it at previews have been heard heaping praises on the stunts performed by both Sunny and Karan.

Blank is presented by Carnival Motion Pictures and EaseMyTrip.com. The thriller, which is produced by Echelon Production and distributed by Panorama Studios,
releases today.

Ayushmann Khurrana, one of the most talented names in Hindi cinema, will reunite with his lucky-mascot, the versatile Bhumi Pednekar this week. This celebrated actor duo,  who won rave notices for Dum Laga Ke Haisha (2015) and Shubh Mangal Saavdhan (2017) is getting together for Bala, which is being helmed by Amar Kaushik (of Stree fame). Both their earlier outings proved to be box-office winners and the actors are hoping to pull off a hat-trick.

Ayushmann says, “Bhumi and I have great chemistry together because of our equation. I’m glad audiences loved us in our previous two films, which became big hits. Being a hit jodi definitely adds to the pressure of delivering good work and I’m confident that our new film’s script will connect with a global audience, given its universal theme. Bhumi is an exceptionally talented actress and it’s always fun to work with her.  I’m hoping our third movie gets as much love as the previous two.”

Bhumi, on her part, says, “Ayushmann and I love slice-of-life films. I’m super excited to collaborate with him for the third time. We have been loved immensely in our previous two movies. I’m confident Bala will once again prove to be a fun watch. People expect our pairing to do quirky projects. Bala is a movie that takes on societal stereotypes in a hilarious manner. Ayushmann is a powerhouse actor, a great co-star and he always gets the best out of me.” Bala should roll any day now.

Kangana Ranaut will begin the Mumbai schedule of her next, Panga, today. Sources say that it will be a 15-day spell, post which the actress will be switching between Panga and the promotions of her upcoming release, Mental Hai Kya. Of late, she has been practising kabaddi rigorously for her role in the Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari directorial.

Not only that, the Queen actress has gained weight, especially, around the thighs and legs as the director wanted her to look authentic as a kabaddi player. Says Kangana, “I’ve never been an athletic person as I was a Science student, but I knew how kabaddi players look and I was determined to achieve what Ashwiny had in mind for me. She seems happy with my transformation.” The Mumbai schedule, we hear, will have more scenes of her playing the sport.
