Diljit Dosanjh recently completed his Dil-Luminati Tour with sold-out shows in United States of America and Canada. The singer-actor has now been accused of not paying the background dancers in this tour.

Los Angeles-based entrepreneur Rajat Batta, who also owns a few dance institutes, took to his Instagram account and called out Diljit for non-payment of desi dancers. He tagged the singer and shared a note that read, "Desi Dancers are still undervalued as an industry. All of the Desi Dancers in Diljit’s Diluminati Tour were not paid, and just expected to perform for free. It’s really disappointing to see an artist of this caliber cut corners by stepping on throats of Desi Dancer industry and continue to attribute to that culture. Diljit, we are very happy for your success, but your dancers should have been paid and been a part of the production budget."

After these accusations, Bhangra dancers who performed with Diljit on this tour have shared a joint statement on Instagram saying that they are honoured to serve the community. Their statement reads, "From the moment we were contacted to the final performance, we were enveloped in respect and professionalism by Diljit Dosanjh and his incredible team. This experience was a celebration of monumental representation and global recognition of our hard work, filling our hearts with pride. The love we received from Diljit is something we will cherish forever."

"Performing alongside Diljit Dosanjh was a priceless opportunity that allowed us to showcase our Punjabi culture on a global stage. His extraordinary achievements in selling out multiple arenas and stadiums have placed Punjabis firmly on the map, creating opportunities that once seemed beyond reach. We stand united in our decision to perform, made with full awareness and acceptance. This experience has enriched our lives in immeasurable ways, and we express our deepest gratitude for this incredible opportunity", they added.

The Bhangra team hit back at those making such accusations and asked them to not try to break their bond as they concluded, "While we appreciate the concern, we do not wish to be represented by the voices who don’t understand our relationship, our motivations, sacrifices, and the immense value we place on such experiences. We are proud of our participation and the new avenues it has opened for the Punjabi community. Do not try to break our bond. We stand united. Thank you for your understanding and unwavering support. Sincerely, All The Bhangra Teams & Captains."
