On Tuesday, the makers of historical drama dropped the teaser of Freedom At Midnight starring Sidhant Gupta as Jawaharlal Nehru, Chirag Vohra as Mahatma Gandhi, Rajendra Chawla as Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.

It is based on the award-winning book by Dominique Lapierre and Larry Collins which will stream soon on Sony LIV. Sharing the teaser, the makers wrote, "The history you may not know. The history you should know. Freedom at Midnight delves into pivotal moments of India's journey to independence, spotlighting leaders like Nehru, Gandhi, Patel, and Jinnah. In the teaser, Maulana Azad (played by Pawan Chopra) announces that Sardar Vallabhai Patel (played by Rajendra Chawla), the President of the Congress Party, will be India's first Prime Minister after independence. However, Mahatma Gandhi (played by Chirag Vohra) interrupts the meeting and questions Azad's decision. Despite praising Patel, Gandhi hands Patel the withdrawal of his nomination and declares Jawaharlal Nehru (played by Sidhant Gupta) as the more suitable candidate for the position of Prime Minister.

It also stars Arif Zakaria as Muhammad Ali Jinnah, Ira Dubey as Fatima Jinnah, Malishka Mendonsa as Sarojini Naidu, Rajesh Kumar as Liaquat Ali Khan, KC Shankar as V.P. Menon, Luke McGibney as Lord Louis Mountbatten, Cordelia Bugeja as Lady Edwina Mountbatten, Alistair Finlay as Archibald Wavell, Andrew Cullum as Clement Attlee, Richard Teverson as Cyril Radcliffe in pivotal roles.

The show is Produced by Emmay Entertainment (Monisha Advani and Madhu Bhojwani) in association with StudioNext and Sony LIV, Nikkhil Advani serves as the Showrunner and Director. The story is penned by Abhinandan Gupta, Adwitiya Kareng Das, Gundeep Kaur, Divya Nidhi Sharma, Revanta Sarabhai, and Ethan Taylor.
