Kader Khan was one of those stars who collaborated with nearly every actor of his time in his career. There might be only a few artists in the film industry who did not work with him.

From Rajesh Khanna to stars like Amitabh Bachchan, this veteran actor-writer has played a pivotal role in shaping their careers. However, Kader Khan himself faced numerous struggles in life. There were times when he survived for three days a week without food. But later, he not only acted but also wrote dialogues and stories for many films.

At the beginning of his career, Kader Khan carved out a unique identity by portraying villains. During that time, he was mostly seen in negative roles in films. However, times changed, and this Bollywood villain began to be recognised for his fantastic comedic style.

When he was thrown out for not calling Amitabh 'sir'

The actor shared that once a producer called him to write a story, and when he arrived, the producer gestured towards Amitabh Bachchan and said, "Sir, meet him."

While speaking to Patcy N for Rediff.com, Kader Khan revealed, “I always called him Amit, but, one day, when I called him Amit, it did not go down well with him. One of the producers from the south asked me, ‘Aap sir ji ko mila? (Did you meet sir ji?)’ I asked ‘Kaun sir ji? (Who?)’ He was shocked and said, ‘Sir ji tumko nahi maloom? (You don’t know Sir ji?) Amitabh Bachchan.’ I told him, ‘I call him Amit, he is a friend.’ He said, ‘Nahi. Aap usse hamesha sir ji bolna, Amit nahi bolna abhi, he is a big man (No. You call him Sir ji, not Amit).’ Amitabh was approaching us and he thought like all the others I would call him ‘Sirji’, which I did not. From that day, I never called out to him and he never spoke to me."

At that time, he was close friends with Amitabh Bachchan. However, their friendship ended. Kader Khan disclosed this in an interview.

Worked with Govinda in several films

Kader Khan has also appeared in several films with Govinda. He worked with Govinda in 41 films. Despite being a comedian, character artist, villain, and excellent scriptwriter, and film director, he always remained grounded.

Life struggles:

Kader Khan's early life was marked by hardship. Born in Baluchistan, he had three brothers named Shams ur Rahman, Fazal Rahman, and Habib ur Rahman. Tragically, all three brothers passed away before the age of eight while the family was in Afghanistan. After this, Kader's parents decided to relocate to India, believing that Afghanistan was unfortunate for their children.

When Kader Khan's parents divorced, his mother remarried a very abusive man who would pressure Kader to ask his real father for money.

In an interview, Kader Khan revealed that his family would go hungry three days a week. He said, "My mother had said ‘If you become a daily labourer today, your Rs 3/day will remain the same forever. But remember, if you want to get rid of this poverty, you must educate yourself first’.”
