It's said that one film is enough for a talent to be recognised. Many times we witnessed that one good movie has changed an actor's career for good (read Zanjeer for Amitabh Bachchan, Baazigar for Shah Rukh Khan). Today we will discuss an actress, who played a key role in one of the biggest blockbusters of Hindi cinema. 

Sadly, the actress couldn't utilise the fame and success, and her film career was short-lived. Today you might remember Pervien Dastur by her name, but you will remember her character Seema in Salman Khan, Bhagyashree's Maine Pyar Kiya. 

Pervien Dastur's background

Born in Mumbai, Pervien's family had no connection with the film industry. During her college days, she started modelling, and then he was spotted by a director and asked to audition for a play. Pervien cracked the audition, and that's how her journey as an actor began. 

How Pervien Dastur got Maine Pyar Kiya 

Pervien was busy doing several English plays with stars like Naseeruddin Shah, and Pearl Padamsee. During this time, Sooraj was looking out for new faces, for his debut film. Sooraj noticed Pervien in a comedy play, and called his father, Raj Kumar Barjatiya, to take the final call about her casting. Even Sr Barjatya was impressed with Pervien's acting chops and offered her the film. As per the reports, for the role of vamp Seema, Pervien got Rs 25,000.  

When Pervien quit films and became an air hostess 

After Maine Pyar Kiya, Pervien was offered multiple films, but she found that the roles offered to her had little difference in the narrative. Thus she rejected those films, and after a few years, Pervien shifted her career from films and became an air hostess in Air India. The actress is also a professional hair stylist and her Instagram has several videos of happy clients. 

Pervien was replaced in Salman and Aamir's films? 

After Maine Pyar Kiya, Salman and Pervien were supposed to come together for Suryavanshi (1992). Pervien also signed the film and was waiting for her call. A month later, she got to know through a magazine that Amrita Singh replaced her. Similarly, she was offered Aamir Khan in Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke. But she got an appointment call from the airline. Pervien chose to work as an air hostess, and that role went to Navneet Nishan. Reportedly Dastur was also offered the series Zabaan Sambhaal Ke, but it went to Tanaaz Currim Irani. 

Pervien Dastur will return to acting? 

Pervien dated model, actor Shahrukh Irani for years, and they got married in 1992. The couple is blessed with two daughters. The actress is reportedly making her comeback with mini-series Margao Files. The series has an ensemble cast including Pervien with Zeenat Aman, Shilpa Shinde, Kitu Gidwani, Lilliput, and Pallavi Joshi. The release date of the series isn't announced yet.
