However, despite starring in a blockbuster, this actress disappeared from films, got dumped by her husband, cheated by her own sister, and struggled for each penny. 

Meet Huma Khan 

Born on December 24, 1954, in Pakistan, Huma hails from a film family. She began her career as a child artist in Pakistani films and TV shows. However, Huma always loved Hindi cinema, and he later came to India with her mother in the 1980s. 

Huma's stint as an actress in India

Huma started her Bollywood career in 1981 with Aapas Ki Baat and later was seen in Aaj Kaa MLA, Sharaabi, Hum Hai Lajawab, and Andar Bahaar. After working for a year, Huma found success in films with Manoj Kumar Kalyug Aur Ramayan. However, her film with Salman Khan made her a household name

Maine Pyar Kiya, Sooraj Barjatya's directorial debut gave her fame. In the blockbuster romantic drama, Huma played Gulabiya, and her camaraderie with Laxmikant Bedre was appreciated by the masses. After Maine Pyar Kiya, Huma was also seen in Barjatya's Hum Saath-Saath Hain. 

Huma got cheated by her husband and sister

In 1992, while she was still active in Bollywood, Huma Khan married her neighbour and left the industry to focus on her married life. However, years later, her husband went abroad and left her alone in difficult times. A few years later, Huma realised that her husband married her sister Nayeema instead. Later, Huma said that the two had also taken all of her life savings, leaving her penniless and on the verge of death. Reportedly, to survive in the expensive city of Mumbai, Huma started doing B-grade, and C-grade films. However, she was still striving hard in her struggle, and then one actor came to her rescue.

Salman Khan, her Maine Pyar Kiya and Hum Saath-Saath Hain co-star provided her with financial support. In an interview with Viral Bollywood, Huma revealed that Salman helped and saved her during the lowest phase of her life and career. Huma further added that Salman supported her both financially and legally during her court struggle. Currently, Huma is living in 1RK and Salman is looking after her monthly expenses.
