NCB officer Sameer Wankhede who arrested Aryan Khan files complaint alleging he is being 'illegally stalked'

Narcotics Control Bureau Zonal Director Sameer Wankhede has filed a complaint with Mumbai Police alleging that he and his sleuths are being 'illegally stalked' by some policemen. Wankhede said on Monday that he has lodged a complaint with Oshiwara Police in this regard, however, he did not provide details.

He has claimed that since the past couple of days he and his men are allegedly under unauthorised 'surveillance' by some persons in plain clothes. However, Mumbai Police did not release any information on the development.

A news agency quoted an NCB official who said Wankhede was reportedly followed by two officials from Oshiwara Police Station to the cemetery where the NCB officer's mother was buried. The officials reportedly went to the cemetery and took CCTV footage to monitor Wankhede's movement.

Sameer Wankhede has been part of multiple high-profile raids carried out by the NCB in the recent past such as the raids conducted as part of the Sushant Singh Rajput drug case among others. 

Most recently, Wankhede and his team came under the spotlight after busting a rave party aboard a luxury cruise ship in which superstar Shah Rukh Khan's son Aryan Khan was arrested. The raid and subsequent arrest sparked off a huge political row with allegations and counter-allegations.

Recently, Maharashtra minister and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Nawab Malik had alleged a connection between the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) and BJP. Refuting the allegations, Union Minister Ramdas Athawale on Sunday said that the anti-drug agency is an independent entity and its activities have no connections with the Bharatiya Janata Party. 

While talking to ANI, he said, "NCB is an independent body. It has no connections with BJP. When it comes to its activities and functioning, political parties are completely unrelated and irrelevant. Malik is deliberately making false allegations against the BJP. NCB is doing its work correctly."

Nawab Malik on Saturday alleged that there exists a connection between the Zonal Director of Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) Mumbai unit and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders.

"We think there might have been some talks between Sameer Wankhede and BJP leaders," he added."After the raid on a cruise ship off Mumbai coast, NCB's Sameer Wankhede had said that eight to ten people were detained. But the truth is that 11 people were detained. Later, three people; Rishabh Sachdeva, Prateek Gaba and Amir Furniturewala were released," he claimed. Malik then questioned that on whose directions did the NCB release those three people when a total of 11 people were detained after the cruise ship raid.

Following the allegations, the NCB had said that all detained served notice under Section 67, were examined thoroughly and their statements recorded. Since no incriminating evidence was found against these persons, they were released.
