30 years ago, a blockbuster movie was released in theatres, which people watch with great interest even today. One thing about this film is that distributors were not coming forward for the movie because of the lead hero but the matter was later settled after the director convinced them. This film was also rejected by not one but two superstar actresses but despite these troubles, this film went on to become a blockbuster.

This film, released in the 90s, created a lot of ruckus at the box office. The makers earned way more money than the film's original budget. The lead actor was also given the National Award for his acting. We are talking about the film 'Krantiveer' which was released in July 1994. It was Nana Patekar who won the National Award for Best Actor for this film.

'Krantiveer' was a crime-drama film in which Nana Patekar was seen in the lead role. Dimple Kapadia, Atul Agnihotri, Mamta Kulkarni, Farida Jalal, Tinnu Anand, and Danny Denzongpa were also part of the film in supporting roles. The movie won the hearts of the audience and proved to be a huge success at the box office.

Nana Patekar played the role of Pratap Narayan Tilak in 'Krantiveer'. Danny Denzongpa, on the other hand, showcased his talent on the big screen in the role of a villain. 'Krantiveer' is one of Nana Patekar's popular films to this date.

As per IMDb, the role of Megha Dixit, played by Dimple Kapadia, was first offered to Sridevi, but she rejected it. Similarly, the role of Mamta, played by Mamta Kulkarni, was also first offered to Kajol, but she also refused.

'Krantiveer' was the first mainstream commercial film of Nana Patekar's career which is why some distributors had initially backed out from the film. They said who would watch Nana Patekar? There is no other big star in the film. It was then that director Mehul Kumar assured the distributors that if the film did not do well at the box office, he would compensate for the loss.

After this, when Mehul Kumar showed the trial show of 'Krantiveer' to the distributors, they agreed to bet on the film. According to Box Office India, the makers had spent only Rs 2.25 crore in making Nana Patekar's 'Krantiveer' and the film earned Rs 15.85 crore at the box office. Nana Patekar's 'Krantiveer' proved to be the third highest-grossing film of the year 1994.
