Today, we will highlight the life of an actress who gained fame, success, and money, but her personal life suffered some big setbacks. Despite all odds, the actress bounced back due to her strong determination, and it's commendable. We are talking about Celina Jaitly. 

Celina Jaitly's Family Background 

Born on November 24, 1981, Celina was born in a Punjabi family in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh. Celina's father's name was V.K Jaitly and he served Indian Army as a Colonel. Her mother's name was Meeta, and she was a doctor in the Army. Celina has a younger brother Vikrant, and he's protecting the nation with the Indian Army. Celina has studied in the top educational institutions, and she wanted to join the Army and wished to serve the nation just like her parents. 

Celina Jaitly's Life After Graduation

After her college graduation, Celina worked as a marketing executive in a mobile phone company in Kolkata. Celina participated in Femina Miss India, and she became the winner of Femina Miss India 2001. After that, Celina even participated in the Miss Universe pageant and became fourth runner-up. After this, Celina started her career in modelling and even starred in a few music videos with Jazzy B and Bombay Vikings. 

Celina Jaitly's big break in Bollywood and her career

Actor-director-producer Feroz Khan discovered Celina and launched her opposite his son Fardeen in the action thriller Janasheen (2003).  Although the movie didn't do well at the box office, Celina got noticed by filmmakers. After that, Celina did Sunny Deol-starrer Khel (2003) and Silsiilay (2005), and both were commercial disasters. 

Celina got her first major hit in 2005, with popular laugh-riot No Entry. In this film, Celina was paired opposite Janasheen's co-star, Fardeen. The movie became the highest-grossing film of the year. After No Entry's success, Celina thought she would get bigger and better roles. But Celina was cast as one of the actresses in ensemble films such as Zinda, Tom Dick Aur Harry, Jawaani Deewani, and  Apna Sapna Money Money (all released in 2006). Celina even did a cameo role in Golmaal Again (2008).

While Celina was busy doing cameos, she met Austrian businessman Peter Hagg. The two dated got married in 2011. After marriage, Celina almost quit films and got settled in Dubai with Peter. The couple was blessed with twin boys, Vinston and Viraj in March 2012. 

Personal tragedies that affected Celina Jaitly

In 2017, Celina became pregnant with twins again, and she was really happy about it. But she suffered a big shock after her father passed away in 2017. When Celina received this news, she was in her third trimester, and she left for India to attend the last rites of her father.

A few months after her father's demise, Celina gave birth to another twin. One of her newborn babies was born with heart issues, and he was kept incubator for three months. Sadly, the doctor couldn't save the child. Celina even lost her mother in 2018 due to cancer. These losses affected Celina, and she battled severe depression for five years.

For her family and her kids, Celina decided to move on in her life. After coming out victorious from depression, Celina made her comeback on-screen as this was her mother's last wish. Celina was last seen in the ZEE5's short film Season Greetings (2021). A remarkable journey isn't it?
