Hailing from the sunshine state of Goa, Varna Bhat had grown up gearing to crack the UPSC examinations and become an Indian Administrative Services (IAS) officer. But fate had something else in store for the excellent student.

Today, she is a serial entrepreneur having founded three companies in less than a decade of a sensational entrepreneurial journey. Her most recent venture is an alco-beverage company called Blisswater Industries which makes India’s newest alcoholic drink brand Rahasya Vodka.

Having been at the top of her class all through schooling, Bhat saw becoming a reputed civil servant as the natural progression. But her life took a turn for other wonderful things mid-way during her preparations for the UPSC exam.

At the time of pursuing a course for cracking civil services exam, Bhat started working alongside in an organization where she was mentored into the branding world.

Working since 18 years of age, the foundation of Varna Bhat’s entrepreneurial career was laid down during this time when she was introduced to the world of marketing and branding while creating a creative sciences course with the company.

After playing leading marketing and branding roles at the corporate level, Bhat founded her first startup in 2012, an eco-friendly fabric branding company called RapidStall. A few years later, Varna created another company called Tessarakt Experiential, a creative house.

With both businesses established, Varna Bhat decided it was time to venture into the alcohol beverage market. Post a friendly conversation and the realization of a major void in the Indian market, Bhat started on the road to create a new company. This gave birth to Blisswater Industries in 2019.

By December 2020, Varna Bhat had created a truly Indian vodka brand called ‘Rahasya’. While the COVID-19 pandemic brought most entrepreneurs down, Bhat climbed up and above. In 2021, Blisswater Industries bagged seed funding of $335,000 (around Rs 2.5 crore), as reported by a leading business daily.

Varna Bhat now plans to take her Vodka brand global in the upcoming years. And with the Indian alcohol market to reach $39.7. billion by 2030, only sky is the limit for the serial entrepreneur.
