Meet woman who holds key role in Rs 43,130 crore revenue company, daughter of billionaire with Rs 24,050 cr net worth

Tanya Dubash is an Indian businesswoman who is known for reinventing the Godrej brand. She is the elder daughter of billionaire businessman Adi Godrej, who is chairman of the USD 5.2 billion (revenue) Godrej Group. Adi has a net real-time worth of Rs 24,050 crore as of August 13, 2023, according to Forbes.

Tanya is an executive director and chief brand officer at the Godrej Group. She has been in the post since 1991. The 54-year-old is known for taking up the responsibility for a rebranding exercise in 2008, Godrej Masterbrand Strategy. 

Tanya is a director on the boards of several Godrej Group companies including Godrej Industries Limited, Godrej Consumer Products Limited and Godrej Agrovet Limited. She is also the chairperson of Godrej Nature's Basket.

She is AB cum laude, Economics and Political Science, Brown University, USA (1987-1991). She is also an alumnus of the Harvard Business School wherein she did her Advance Management Program in 2005. Tanya is married to Arvind Dubash, an Industrialist. They live in Mumbai with their children Aryaan and Azaar. She has two siblings -- Nisaba, who chairs Godrej Consumer Products and brother Pirojsha who runs Godrej Properties.

Tanya also heads the Strategic Marketing Group (SMG) that guides the Godrej Masterbrand and portfolio strategy. She chairs a Marketing Council comprising Group Marketing Heads. Tanya is also on the Board of AIESEC. She is a Trustee of Brown University and a member of the Brown - India Advisory Council. She was recognised by the World Economic Forum as a Young Global Leader in 2007.
