IPL 2019: Chennai Super Kings beat Royal Challengers Bangalore by 7 wickets in the opening match of the IPl 2019 on Saturday. CSK reached the target in 17.4 overs after RCB were all out for a paltry 70 in 17.1 overs.  Parthiv Patel was the top-scorer with 29 while Harbhajan Singh (3/20) and Imran Tahir (3/9) bowled brilliantly. Ravindra Jadeja also got two wickets.

Earlier, Chennai Super Kings captain MS Dhoni won the toss and decided to bowl first in the Indian Premier League opener against Royal Challengers Bangalore.

    OUT! Shane Watson out for a duck as Chennai lose early wicket in chase of 71. Yuzvendra Chahal gets the wicket. Watto went for a slog sweep to a ball that was on the off stump. He was not close to the the line and missed it. The ball went on to hit the off stump.

It was not an LBW but as there was some bat involved, an inside edge, replays confirm. However, Shane Watson has taken the catch in the slips as well, so RCB lose another wicket.

    OUT! Shivam Dube (2)- the young star falls early in his debut IPL innings. Dhoni has brought Imran Tahir on just after the strategic time out. Dube went for a late cut but managaed just an edge. There was a slip in place for just that.

    OUT! Shimron Hetmyer (0) is run out. There was no run there as the ball went to Suresh Raina. His throw was accurate and Dhoni did the rest.

    OUT! Moeen Ali (9) also falls to Harbhajan Singh. The ball is not coming easily to the bat. Ali had started well but this time ends up tossing one back to the bowler. Easy dismissal for Harbhajan.

    OUT! Virat Kohli is the first wicket to fall in IPL 2019. It has been a great start by Chennai bowlers. They have not allowed Virat or Parthiv to score freely. Virat (6) finally decided to take on Harbhajan Singh. But his shot sends the ball straight to Ravindra Jadeja.
