Played more like ODI than Test: Netizens unhappy with Shubman Gill's performance for India A practice match

While the Men-in-Blue are looking to clean sweep the T20I series, India A squad that is up against Australia A is struggling in the practice match.

India started their red-ball campaign down under got off to the worst possible start. The 2nd session of Day 3 witnessed Indian openers Prithvi Shaw and Shubman Gill fall after scoring just 19 and 29 respectively.

Gill's performance in the 1st session had also got people talking as he fell for a duck. The Punjab opener was first to depart for first-ball duck, ballooning an edge to third slip Marcus Harris off Michael Neser. Shaw departed an over later edging one from James Pattinson for an eight-ball duck.

Seeing their performance has got netizens upset and soon took to Twitter to talk about the same.

Shubman Gill needed to dig in and play 60-70 balls to cement his place in the team. But instead, he played so many false shots & a great opportunity wasted. Too careless of an approach.

He needs proper guidance. He has great techniques, but not the right patience.#AUSAvINDA

India will begin their Test campaign from December 17 which will be played at the Adelaide Oval. It will be day-night clash and will be led by Virat Kohli before he takes of for India for his paternity leave. He and wife Anushka Sharma are expecting their firstborn in January.
