India vs Australia, 2nd Test Day 2: As it happened in IND vs AUS match at Perth- In pictures

The day two action has begun at Perth- Australia are resuming at 277 for six with captain Tim Paine unbeaten on 16 and Pat Cummins 11 not out. India will be hoping to wrap up the innings soon.

India's injured batsman Prithvi Shaw was seen working with his teammates on the ground before day two of the match. Shaw suffered an ankle injury during the warm up game before the first Test match.

So far no signs of an easy wrap up for India- their bowlers are again struggling in the first session of the day. Tim Paine and Pat Cummins have been watchful but not in any danger so far. They have taken Australia past 300. Every run from this point will be extra trouble for India. Remember, they have to bat fourth in this innings.

Umesh Yadav get the breakthroug- it was brilliant line and length. Cummins is nowhere near as it hits the off stump. Pat Cummins departs for 19 as lose their 7th wicket at 310.

Jasprit Bumrah strikes as India get two wickets in two overs. It hit Paine on the pads and the on-field umpire raised the finger. Australia go for a review but ball tracker shows it was pitching in line and hitting the stumps. Paine has to go back for 38 runs, Australia 310 for eight.

Ishant Sharma takes two wickets in two balls to end the innings- Mitchell Strac edges the ball outside off stump to hand a straightforward catch to Rishabh Pant behind the stumps. 

Josh Hazelwood then returns for a first-ball duck. It was a good looking catch by Rishabh Pant. It means Ishant Sharma will be on a hat-trick in the second innings.

Australia are all out for 326 in their first innings... it went from 310/6 to 326 all out in a matter of just 22 balls. 

Indian pacers hunt in pack today- Umesh Yadav broke the partnership to get Cummins. Jasprit Bumrah then got rid of Paine. Ishant Sharma got 2 wickets in 2 balls to end the innings.

BOWLED! It was an absolute ripper from Mitchell Starc. The ball was just swinging enough to beat Murali Vijay. He departs for 0. India lose their first wicket with just 6 runs on the board. They go for lunch with that.

It did not take Australia long to strike after lunch - Hazlewood goes through the defence of KL Rahul. It was almost yorker length and Rahul completely misjudged the line of the ball. Australian pacers have been bowling brilliantly.

Virat Kohli seems to be fighting fire with fire. He hits Hazlewood for three boundaries in four bowls. He is establishing his dominance early in the innings. At the other end, Cheteshwar Pujara is looking solid as usual. This is the most important partnership for India.

A good session for India after the loss of Rahul's wicket. With Aussie pacers on fire, Virat Kohli responded with some positive shots early in his innings. However, it has been tough to bat as the ball is doing all sorts of funny things. Nathan Lyon has come close to a wicket a few times. Still Kohli and Mr. Reliable Cheteshwar Pujara have managed to endure the tough session.

Big blow for India as Mitchell Starc gets Cheteshwar Pujara out. Pujara was caught down the leg side. He was trying to glance a length ball going down the leg side but got a faint edge behind to Paine. Australia finally succeed in breaking the 74-run partnership.

Great show by Virat and Ajinkya in the final session of the day- they walk back at stumps with 82 not out and 51 not out respectively.

India end day two on 172/3 after being 8/2 at one time. No doubt the pitch has played a lot better than it did yesterday but take nothing away from the skill and patience of Pujara, Kohli and Rahane. The third session started with the loss of the new 'Wall' of the Indian team. But Rahane and Virat have played brilliantly to keep India ahead.
