The ball was flighted on middle and leg, Sharma went low to swept the ball. He lost his balance completely. However, he was lucky it came off the top-edge and flew past the fielder and ran away to the boundary.

Play has been called off for the day.

India had finished Day 1 on an extremely strong note with Rohit Sharma and Mayank Agarwal putting on 202 runs on the scoreboard.

Yesterday's play was however interrupted due to rain. The ground staff had to cover the entire ground. 

Hoping that the rain will stay away, though it is overcast but the sun is trying to peep through. There is a 50 per cent chance of precipitation.

The Indian openers will, however, look to extend the dominating start with Mayank just 16 runs away from his maiden Test ton.

And with a run, Mayank Agarwal scores his maiden ton.

He has his hands aloft in the air, takes his helmet off as everyone in the dressing room is up and applauding. 

The crowd is cheering for him as well. Rohit hugs his partner as Agarwal is seen grinning from ear to ear.

Just after resuming back from lunch break, Pujara is sent back to the pavilion for 6 runs. It was a length ball with a scrambled seam, Pujara tried to defend, but the ball just left him to beat the bat.

A day to remember for Senuran Muthusamy who dismissed Indian skipper Virat Kohli - caught and bowled.

The wicket even got Kohli thinking. The captain was on the back foot to flick, checked the shot and got a leading edge that lobbed back to the bowler's left. A delight for Senuran Muthusamy and the Proteas congratulate him.

Today, the Bengaluru lad stands tall with his arms aloft soaking in all the applause from the Vizag. The dressing room celebrates the milestone.

A maiden double-hundred for the Karnataka lad. He's thrilled and pumped as he gives everyone a big smile. 

And that slight halt of play may have upset Ajinkya Rahane's concentration as he departs for 15 runs.

Rahane used his feet looking to drive on the off-side and all he could manage was a thin toe-end and Bavuma accepts the ball at short cover.

'Dean Elgar sends Mayank Agarwal back for 215. South Africa are relieved after claiming this wicket. 

A rank full toss dipping on middle and leg and Mayank used all his might to mow it on the leg-side. However, there's a fielder at deep mid-wicket though who anticipates the dip perfectly to take an excellent running catch.

The Proteas lose their second wicket with just 31 runs on the board. Ashwin strikes again and this time gets Theunis de Bruyn stumped at the hands of wicket-keeper Wriddhiman Saha.

Day two action came to end as South Africa finished a day on 39/3 after 20 overs. 

Indian spinners did all the damage for Virat Kohli as Ashwin (2/9) and Jadeja (1/21) delivered the blow with their 8 overs. 

Dean Elgar (27*) and Temba Bavuma (2*) will resume the play for South Africa on Day three.

With du Plessis' first Test half-ton in India he and Dean Elgar together stitch 100 runs partnership.

Elgar is currently on 84 and is aiming for a ton.

India were desperately waiting for a breakthrough and Ashwin gets it. After stitching 100 runs partnership, Dean Elgar and du Plessis had become a strong force.

However, Ashwin drew his length back a fraction and the line was such that Faf had to play it off the front foot.

He massaged the ball straight into the hands of Pujara at leg gully.

Dean Elgar records his second Test hundred in Asia. Hashim Amla in 2010 was the last South African to ton up in India and now Dean Elgar joins that list. 

He gets to the landmark in style, takes the helmet off and soaks in all the applause.

This is what South Africa needs right now, a good partnership and keeping wickets in hand.

Ravindra Jadeja picks up the 200th Test wicket of his career and provides India with a key breakthrough on the day. 

Opener Dean Elgar's brilliant knock of 160 runs comes to an end as Senuran Muthusamy joins de Kock, who is currently few runs away from his century, to continue the innings. 
 

South Africa are 342/6 after 99.3 overs. 

Quinton de Kock hits it down the ground for a maximum and secures the century against India off 149 balls.
 

That's exactly what South Africa needed from their limited-overs captain after they lost Elgar (160) just a few overs back. 

 

This was de Kock's 5th test ton - featuring 16 boundaries and two sixes (16x4 & 2x6). 

Quinton de Kock's magnificent knock of 111runs comes to end as spinner Ravichandran Ashwin picks up his fourth wicket of the day. 

The flighted delivery absolutely deceived de Kock who missed the pitch of the ball and ended up losing his stumps.  

South Africa finish day three on 385/8. 

Ashwin and Jadeja fulled it back for India after de Kock(111) and Elgar(160) gave the tourists a brilliant start on the day. 

SA will start day four action with Senuran Muthusamy (12*) and Keshav Maharaj (3*) in the middle with wickets in hands.

After keeping his lines tight around off-stump, he decides to entice Maharaj with loads of flight. 

Maharaj came down the pitch trying to take a full toss of the flighted delivery but the dip and cunning drift involved in that, almost came too close and safe into Mayank Agarwal's hands.

Rohit stepped out and lofted this flat to long-on, Muthusamy jumped and caught the ball, but his left toe just touched the boundary cushion when he tried to throw the ball, and his left foot was in contact with the rope even when he tried to grab the rebound.
