Rahul Tewatia or Devdutt Padikkal - IPL 2020 stars that could make it to India's tour of Australia

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) opening batsman Devdutt Padikkal has proved his worth since the very first match for the Bengaluru franchise.

Padikkal even became the first player in the IPL history to hit three 50+ scores in first four matches of the tournament.

RCB allrounder Chris Morris hailed his teammate and called him the "future of Indian cricket". Padikkal bears resemblance to former Australia batsman Matthew Hayden, Morris added.

"Devdutt has been incredible. He has an imposing way of batting, similar to Matthew Hayden. Devdutt does not have Hayden’s physical size, but he has a similar technique with the way he hits the ball. He is a great athlete, which is important. He is the future of Indian cricket," Morris had said in a media interaction.

The 20-year-old top order had previously impressed in the Karnataka Premier League. He represented India Under-19 and soon earned a call-up to the Karnataka Ranji Trophy side.

He made a stroke-filled 77 on his Ranji Trophy debut against Maharashtra in November 2018. Padikkal was acquired by Royal Challengers Bangalore for INR 20 lacs at the player auction prior to IPL 2019.

Delhi left-handed batsman Nitish Rana has been vital for the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) side. He helps stablise the middle-order. 

He had a decent outing in the 2019 edition of the IPL with 344 runs from 14 matches at a strike rate of 146.38. 

Recently in the clash against Delhi Capitals (DC) at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi, Ranas cored a quick half-century and dedicated it to his late father-in-law Surinder Marwah.

Rahul Tewatia has been the flavour of the season for Rajasthan Royals. His 224 runs at an average of 44.80 makes him the fourth highest run getter for the team after 11 matches.

His explosive ability with bat has won the Royals two games they seemed to lose and his bowling has been dependable. 

Tewatia's seven wickets tie him with Shreyas Gopal as the second highest wicket-taker for his side. 

The leg-spin bowling all-rounder was traded to the Royals from Delhi Capitals ahead of IPL 2020.

Mohammed Siraj from Hyderabad had made headlines when his services were acquired by Sunrisers Hyderabad for INR 2.60 cr. 

The RCB think-tank saw enough potential in the youngster and bought him at the IPL 2018 Player Auction for INR 2.20 cr.

Siraj was the hero in the match against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) where he bowled a spell of 4-2-8-3.

Siraj's first three wickets came without conceding a run as he became the first bowler in IPL history to bowl two maidens in a single game. RCB restricted KKR to 84/8 and chased down the target in 13.3 overs.

Chris Morris, his temmate said, “Siraj worked hard with Dale Steyn to get his seam position right. To see Siraj execute that in the match was incredible. The impressive thing about the Indian fast bowlers is their work rate. They just bowl, bowl and bowl.”

Ishan Kishan's attacking batting was what the Mumbai Indians (MI) team management need.

Bought for a whopping INR 5.5 crore, Ishan, played 14 games in 2018 and seven in 2019, scoring just 101 runs with an average of 16.83.

In 2020, in nine matches, he has scored 298 runs at an average of 42.57.

In the clash against Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Kishan (68 not out) had opened in place of regular skipper Rohit Sharma who missed out due to a hamstring injury.
