During the Super 4 clash against Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2023, Virat Kohli achieved a remarkable feat by scoring his 47th ODI hundred. This outstanding performance also made him the fastest player to reach 13000 ODI runs, achieving this milestone in just 267 innings, surpassing the previous record held by Sachin Tendulkar, who took 321 innings to achieve the same feat.

Although Kohli started his innings slowly, he quickly picked up the pace and his running between the wickets became a major talking point. His acceleration was smooth and impressive, showcasing his exceptional skills as a right-handed batsman.

Kohli's outstanding performance earned him the well-deserved Player of the Match award. He scored a brilliant 122 runs off just 94 balls, contributing significantly to the Men in Blue's victory over Pakistan. The match ended with a staggering 228-run defeat for Pakistan, making it one of the heaviest ODI defeats they have ever faced.

During the post-match presentation, Kohli emphasized the importance of recovering well ahead of their upcoming match against Sri Lanka, which was scheduled for the very next day.

"Its the first time I have done anything like this in 15 years of cricket. Luckily we are Test players, so we know how to come back the next day and play. Recovery is crucial. It was humid out there today. I am 35 in November, so I need to take care of my recovery. A big shoutout to the groundstaff from my side."

India defeated Sri Lanka by a margin of 41 runs on the following day, securing their place in the tournament's final.
