IPL 2019, Purple Cap List: Yuzvendra Chahal is leading the list of highest wicket-takers after taking two wickets for Royal Challengers Bangalore in their 7-wicket defeat to Rajasthan Royals. Chennai Super Kings' Imran Tahir is now second in the table for Purple Cap contenders.

Chahal dismissed RR openers Ajinkya Rahane and Jos Buttler to raise his tally to eight. Imran Tahir has six wickets and is placed second based on the best economy rate.   

He followed by Rajasthan Royals’ Shreyas Gopal, Delhi Capitals' Kagiso Rabada, Chennai Super Kings' Dwyane Bravo and Kings XI Punjab's Sam Curran- who also have 6 wickets. 

Below them are Andre Russell (KKR), Mohammed Shami (KXIP) with five wickets each and Mohammad Nabi (SRH) and Jasprit Bumrah (MI) with four scalps each.

The Purple Cap is awarded to the bowler with most wickets in a season of IPL. During the tournament, the bowler leading the wicket charts gets to wear the cap while fielding. At the end of the tournament, the bowler with most wickets wins the Purple Cap award.
