Kapil Dev suggests three things which could help Virat Kohli score runs during England tour

Team India is set to travel to the UK on June 2 for the World Test Championship (WTC) final and the five-match Test series against England. The Indian players had already started their 14-day quarantine in Mumbai on May 19.
While the side is gearing up for the tour, one thing that is still stuck in the minds of the people is the century drought of Indian skipper Virat Kohli.
Kohli has not scored a century in the whole of 2020 which continued to 2021. Now with two major events in the pipeline, fans are eagerly waiting for the 'Run Machine' to get back on track.
Talking about Kohli's performance, former World Cup-winning India captain Kapil Dev has given a few suggestions to the Indian skipper.
Dev feels if Kohli adheres to these, he could score big runs in the UK. Kapil asked Kohli not to be over-aggressive and also reckoned the captain would be better off waiting for his moments of dominance.
"I expect him to excel. Can you really shackle him? He is a natural when it comes to adapting but I would caution him to not be over-aggressive. He will have to measure it session by session. He'll be better off waiting for his moments of dominance," Kapil told Mid-Day in an interview.
Kapil said that Kohli, who would be on his third English tour, would need to show patience to succeed in the UK.
"He will get his runs with a bit of patience. Trying too hard and too early doesn’t work in England where you need to watch the movement of the ball. If you play seam and swing well, show patience, you will succeed in England," he added.
Kohli had toured England for the first time in 2014 which was termed to be a forgetful series for the batsman. He could merely muster 134 runs from 10 innings.
Four years later, Kohli turned the tables in his favour and scored a mammoth 593 runs from five Tests, including two centuries and three fifties.
As for Team India, after completing the two-week quarantine in Mumbai, they will undergo another 10-day quarantine in the UK.
The second period will see them first undergo a hard quarantine before they take the field to train for the WTC final against New Zealand in Southampton.
