R Ashwin finishes decade as highest wicket-taker in international cricket

Team India star spinner Ravichandran Ashwin ended the decade as the with the most number of international wickets to his name. 

The off-spinner knocked out 564 wickets to his name and topped International Cricket Council's (ICC) list of bowler, with other great names like James Anderson, Stuart Broad, Tim Southee, and Trent Boult behind him.

Since his debut back in 2011, Ashwin has been one of the most consistent bowlers for India and has picked up key wickets at regular intervals.

The 33-year-old is also the fastest bowler to take 300-wickets in Test cricket and is also the 7th Indian ever to bag a five-wicket haul on debut.

Most recently, Ashwin marked his return to the national side by securing his 27th five-wicket haul during India's first Test match against South Africa.

Even though Ashwin has not featured for the 'Men In Blue' in ODIs and T20Is since 2017, the bowler has been able to show his class in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

In the past few years, Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal have put in some really impressive performances and its quite evident that the BCCI is now building a team for the future as confirmed by Sourav Ganguly.
