The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will conduct the Combined Medical Services Examination (CMSE) on July 14 to fill 827 posts. The exam is scheduled in two shifts: 9:30 am to 11:30 am and 2 pm to 4 pm.

Age Limit: Candidates must be under 32 years of age as of August 1, 2024, meaning they must have been born no earlier than August 2, 1992.

Selection Process: The selection process includes a written test (Objective MCQs) and a Personality Test (Interview).

Exam Structure: The examination has two parts:

Part I: Written Examination (500 marks)

Paper I: 250 marks, 120 questions (96 General Medicine, 24 Paediatrics)

Syllabus: Topics like Cardiology, Respiratory Diseases, Gastrointestinal Issues, and Neurology in General Medicine; Common Childhood Emergencies, Basic Newborn Care, and Immunization in Paediatrics.

Paper II: 250 marks, 120 questions (40 Surgery, 40 Gynaecology & Obstetrics, 40 Preventive & Social Medicine)

Syllabus: General Surgery, Urological Surgery, Neuro Surgery, and Otorhinolaryngology in Surgery; Obstetrics, Gynaecology, and Family Planning in Gynaecology & Obstetrics; Preventive, Social, and Community Medicine.

Part II: Personality Test (100 marks)

Educational Qualification: Applicants must have passed their final MBBS Examination. Those who have not completed their mandatory rotating internship are eligible but must complete it for final selection.

Guidelines: Candidates must bring a printout of their e-Admit Card to the examination venue. If the photograph on the e-Admit Card is unclear or missing, candidates must bring a photo ID and two passport-sized photographs. Entry to the exam hall is required 30 minutes before the exam starts: 9 am for the Forenoon Session and 1 pm for the Afternoon Session. Candidates should bring a black ballpoint pen for the OMR answer sheets and attendance list.
