Actor and former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, NTR passed away on January 18, 1996.
Legendary actor turned politician Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao (NT Rama Rao) aka NTR passed away on January 18, 1996, and today, it marks his 25th death anniversary. Like every year, a sea of people assembled at NTR Ghat in Hyderabad to pay their respects to the late Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. At the ceremony, his son and actor-politician Nandamuri Balakrishna
was seen arriving and greeting people.
He paid tribute and also spoke to media wherein he fondly remembered his father. According to The Times of India, Balakrishna said, "Today marks my father NTR’s vardhanti. Every year family members and loved ones turn up to pay their respects to him here. He was so larger than life; no one can match up to his greatness. He walked the talk and proved we can achieve whatever we set our mind to. His life is inspirational for any generation and his name lends me strength even today."

Every year Jr NTR and Kalyan Ram who are the grandchildren also visit NTR Ghat to pay tribute to their grandfather. However, until now, only Nandamuri Balakrishna paid a visit.
