Actor Ajaz Khan arrested from Navi Mumbai hotel with drugs worth Rs 2.20 lakh

Bollywood actor Ajaz Khan (37) has been arrested by the Navi Mumbai police for allegedly possessing a banned drug. The actor was arrested on Monday after the ANC sleuths raided a hotel in CBD Belapur where he was staying. After the raid, the officers recovered a total of eight ecstasy tablets which are commonly used in rave parties.

According to the Navi Mumbai police, the senior officers had received a tip off about Khan coming to the hotel with the said drug. Immediately, a team was prepared and the raid was conducted on Monday late night.

"Based on the inputs received, the accused was arrested along with eight ecstasy pills weighing 2.3 grams worth Rs 2.20 lakhs. The accused was produced before the Vashi magistrate court on Tuesday where he has been sent to police custody till Thursday. The case is presently being investigated and further details shall be highlighted ahead. The accused has been charged under section 8 (c) and 22 (b) of The Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act" said a police officer of CBD Belalpur police station.

Khan who has been associated in the television industry has worked in some films and serials and in 2016, Khan was arrested for sending obscene photos and abusive messages to a hair stylist. He was later released out on bail by the Borivali court.
