Fire Song: Suriya looks fierce in first track from Kanguva, fans heap praises on his 'new badass avatar after Rolex'

The lyrical video of Kanguva's first track titled Fire Song was released on Tuesday, July 23, on the occasion of the lead actor Suriya's birthday. The Fire Song is composed by Devi Sri Prasad and has been released in its original language Tamil and the dubbed versions in Hindi, Malayalam, Kannada, and Telugu languages.

Suriya looks fierce in the glimpse of the track showcased in its lyrical video. Seeing that glimpse, fans shared their excitement about the upcoming pan-India fantasy action film. One of his fans wrote, "This is Suriya's new badass avatar after Rolex", referring to the actor's villainous avatar Rolex seen in the climax of the 2022 Tamil action film Vikram. "Waiting for this masterpiece in theatres", read another comment. One netizen wrote, "One thing is sure that Kanguva is going to be the first proper pan India movie from Kollywood. They have put 100% effort in ensuring that the song doesn’t look like a dubbed one in other languages. All versions are equally good."

Directed by Siva, Kanguva is slated for theatrical release on October 10, two days ahead of the Dussehra festival. It was reported that Rajinikanth, Amitabh Bachchan-starrer Vettaiyan will also hit theatres on the same date. Talking about the reports of this clash, Kanguva's producer K.E. Gnanavelraja said in a recent interview with Galatta Plus, "I want to clarify. They (Vettaiyan) are targeting for Diwali and working towards that. So, on October 10, no films are being planned. I, emotionally and professionally, will not decide to come with Rajini sir." In the same interview, he also announced the sequel of Kanguva as he stated, "If everything goes as per plan, Kanguva 2 might release in January 2027."

In March, Prime Video made the announcement that Suriya-starrer will start streaming on its platform after its theatrical release. Taking to its social media accounts, the OTT giant shared the film's poster and wrote, "A story that travels 500 years from 1700’s to 2023 about a hero who has to fulfil a mission left unfinished. #Kanguva available post-theatrical release."

Apart from Suriya, Kanguva also stars Bobby Deol, Disha Patani, Natarajan Subramaniam, Jagapathi Babu, Yogi Babu, Redin Kingsley, Kovai Sarala, Anandaraj, Ravi Raghavendra, and K. S. Ravikumar in the leading roles.
