On Wednesday, the makers of King of Kotha dropped the much-awaited trailer of the film starring Dulquer Salmaan. The trailer showcases the journey of a footballer-turned-ganglord.
Social media users reacted to the trailer, one of them wrote, “It's Not a Trailer It's, Pure GOOSEBUMPS.” The second one said, “Goosebumbs at peak.” The third one said, “t's Not A Trailer, It's PURE GOOSEBUMPS.” The fourth one said, “It's not a trailer it's pure Goosebumps.” The fifth one said, “Only 90's kids can understand the feeling of seeing DQ Sir back in this role.” The fifth one said, “Who's here after SRK's Tweet. Pure goosebumps trailer. Best wishes to DQ sir and entire team.”
King of Kotha stars an ensemble cast including Aishwarya Lekshmi, Dancing Rose Shabeer, Prasanna, Nyla Usha, Chemban Vinod, Gokul Suresh, Shammi Thilakn, Shanthi Krishna, Vada Chennai Saran, and Anikha Surendran. King of Kotha will have a pan-India release in cinemas on August 2023.
Meanwhile, apart from King of Kotha, Dulquer Salmaan will also be seen in Guns & Gulaabs. During the trailer launch, Delhi Dulquer said, “How much I try to break out of the "Romantic Hero" tag, it keeps finding me and I think Sita Ramam has taken it to a level which I have never imagined in my life. The amount of love I received from all over the world across languages and cultures and countries is incredible. I am very grateful. We’re all huge fans of Shah Rukh sir from the 90s so I think Sita Ramam is my DDLJ (Dilwale Dulhaniyaa Le Jayenge).”
Starring Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol in the lead roles, Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge, a 1995 romantic blockbuster, is the longest-running movie in the history of Indian cinema and continues to enjoy its screening at Mumbai’s Maratha Mandir theatre. It is one of the biggest IPs emerging from the Indian film industry. ‘DDLJ’ has shaped pop culture for India and Indians over the generations. Sita Ramam recently won the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award for Best Film Jury.
